COVID Worship Changes Starting 9/5/2021

In recent weeks, we have been watching the COVID case and positivity rates increase dramatically with the Delta variant. In reviewing the guidelines from the diocesan COVID Task Force and in conversation with our Wardens, the following modifications to our Sunday liturgy will begin on Sunday, September 5, 2021:

  1. Reducing the number of Sunday readings. We will have one lesson plus the Gospel reading. One lector will read the lesson and the other will read the Prayers of the People.

  2. Reducing the number of hymns to two - an opening and closing hymn.

  3. Move the reception of Holy Communion by the congregation at the altar rail to after the dismissal during the singing of the closing hymn. This will minimize the amount of time our members in attendance are unmasked inside the worship space and improve the worship experience for those joining us online.

  4. Opening the windows of our worship space to allow proper ventilation as weather permits.

  5. Reinstating sign-in sheets for contact tracing. The MAIN door to the Church will be the only entrance for worship.

  6. Moving hospitality hour outdoors as weather permits. If there is inclement weather, we will forego having fellowship time to reduce the risk of possible exposure.

These measures are designed to minimize exposure risks and keep in-person worship available at All Saints during this phase of the pandemic.
